An experiment was carried out from 2003-2005 at Safi- Abad Agricultural Resaerch Center , to determine residual effects of rates and various application methods of phosphorus on yield of canola in rotation with corn . The design was as a compeletely randomized factorial block with eight treatments in three replications. The treatments included four levels of phosphorus ( 0 , 50 , 100 and 150 kg P2O5 per hectar as triple superphosphate) and two levels of application method as broadcasting and banding . The results showed that the main effect of P on the grain yield and thousand grain wieght of corn was significant. Maximum grain yield and thousand grain wieght obtained in treatments of 50 and 100 kg P2O5 per hectar that compared with control( no application P ) about 1 t/ha and 22 g was higher, respectively. The main effect of application method on the thousand grain wieght was significant, so that broadcast method on this trait had higher effect. The residual effect of P on the seed yield and number of pods per plant , percent oil and P uptake by seed of canola was significant. Maximum the seed yield ( 2.5 t/ha ) , number of pods per plant ( 181 ) , percent oil ( 42% ) and p uptake ( 14.5 kg/ha ) obtained with the highest rates of P ( 100 and 150 kg P2O5 per hectar) applied in previous planting.
