Reactivity test for gilts in farrowing room

英语. Twenty-eight pregnant gilts were subjected to the reactivity test three days after their admission in cage, some days before farrowing. With a score 1 to 6 (5-6 for confidence and 4 to 1 for fear), 14 pregnant gilts were given a high score, 12 received an average low score, whereas 2 fearful ones were removed from this study. There were no significant differences in the productive performances between the two groups, even if the high score gilts showed a trend to higher productivity. The test for pregnant gilts can be useful for workers to set their behaviour according to the emotional answers of subjects

Con un punteggio da 1 a 6 (5-6 fiducia e 4-1 timore), 14 nullipare hanno ricevuto un punteggio alto, 12 un punteggio medio-basso, mentre 2 paurose sono state eliminate dalla ricerca. Non vi sono state differenze significative nelle performance produttive tra i due gruppi, anche se le primipare a punteggio elevato hanno mostrato una tendenza verso una più elevata produttività. Il test applicato alle scrofette gravide può essere utile all'addetto alle partorienti per regolare il suo comportamento in base alla risposta emozionale dell'animale
