With the aim of evaluation and characterization of important agronomical, morphological and qualitative traits of canola germplasm, 67 accessions of canola were planted in 2 separate experiments according to winter and spring type, using two randomized complete block designs (RCBD) with 3 replications at the seed and plant improvement institute, Karaj-Iran. All important agronomical and phenological traits including number of branches, plant height, number of seed per pod, number of pod in main stem, number of pod in plant, main pod length and secondary pod length were recorded during growth period. At ripening, biological and seed yield were measured and harvest indices were calculated. Weight of 1000 seeds, oil content was measured and oil yield for each genotype were also calculated. Based on the analysis of variance and means comparison results the genotypes had highly significant differences according to all studied traits. In could be included that there is a broad genetic diversity in the germplasm collection of rapeseed which could be utilized in breeding programs.
