Variability of casein haplotypes in Reggiana cattle breed [Emilia-Romagna; thirty-years trends]

英语. An investigation was carried out to compare the casein haplotype frequencies in Reggiana breed cows estimated by EH program on two data-sets, concerning 2003 and 1971 year genotyping. The genes considered in the haplotype are, in the order, alpha sub(s1)-casein, beta-casein, and kappa-casein. Noticeable differences were found between the two years. In particular, the CAB haplotype frequency increased in 17 percentage points, whereas BAB and CM haplotypes decreased in 18.5 and 7.6 percentage points, shared between BBA and BCB haplotypes. The highly significant difference between the frequencies estimated taking into account association and the ones expected in the independence hypothesis, indicates an extreme linkage disequilibrium at the casein gene complex in the population. Such a disequilibrium tripled during the thirty-year period considered, as a consequence of the genetic drift resulting from the breed numeric decrease, as well as the selection for economic traits of interest in the population. 显示更多 [+] 显示较少 [-]意大利语. Mediante il programma EH sono state confrontate le frequenze degli aplotipi caseinici delle vacche di razza Reggiana del 2003 con quelle del 1971. I geni considerati nell'aplotipo sono, nell'ordine, la alfa inf(s1)-caseina, la beta-caseina e la cappa-caseina. Le differenze tra le frequenze aplotipiche del 1971 e del 2003 sono notevoli. In particolare, l'aplotipo CAB ha avuto un incremento di 17 punti percentuali, mentre gli aplotipi BAB e quello CM hanno avuto, rispettivamente, un decremento di 18,5 e 7,6 punti percentuali, che si sono distribuiti fra gli aplotipi BBA e BCB. La differenza altamente significativa tra frequenze stimate tenendo conto dell'associazione e quelle attese nell'ipotesi di indipendenza indica una condizione di estremo disequilibrio da linkage al complesso dei geni caseinici nella popolazione. Tale disequilibrio, durante il trentennio considerato, si è addirittura triplicato, a indicare come da una parte la deriva genetica dovuta alla drastica riduzione numerica a cui la razza è andata incontro, dall'altra la selezione effettuata per caratteri di interesse economico nella popolazione abbiano condizionato in modo ragguardevole la struttura dell'intero aplotipo caseinico e non solo di un gene specifico
