英语. During the last years, in Italian sugar beet areas, increasing diffuse strong damage by armyworms on the foliar apparatus was observed. These insects, Mamestra brassicae, Mamestra oleracea, Autographa gamma and Spodoptera exigua, that belong to the family Noctuidae, can determine high yield losses in terms of raw sugar and income for the farmers. The monitoring of the adults helps to know better the habits, the morphology of the different stages of development and consequently the control of these species

Negli ultimi anni si sono osservati, in misura crescente e sempre più diffusa nei diversi comprensori bieticoli, forti danni sull'apparato fogliare provocati da lepidotteri appartenenti alla famiglia dei nottuidi (Mamestra brassicae, Mamestra oleracea, Autographa gamma, Spodoptera exigua). La stima delle perdite produttive mostra sensibili differenze in PLV fra colture non trattate e colture opportunamente difese da tali infestanti fogliari. La forte virulenza degli attacchi, unita a un'elevata difficoltà di contenimento anche con interventi insetticidi specifici, impone un esame più attento delle specie presenti e della loro diffusione
