Statistical methods for analysing the data of weed flora

英语. The ecological approach to the agriculture supports a conservation of biodiversity in agro-ecosystems. The biodiversity is a part of a well-balanced organic system and thereby ensures more stable yields of the crop. The diversity of vegetation within and around agro-ecosystem is an important component of biodiversity. Natural plants provide many animal species with a habitat and food resources. Therefore it is important to investigate the diversity of weed and their impact on ecological processes in crop fields, as well as on amount and quality of the yield. It is possible to use the same statistical methods for analyzing vegetation diversity of weed flora as in phytosociology. The methods, mentioned in this paper, have been used in agriculture only for last two decades in Europe. There are no similar investigations in Latvia. TURBOVEG is a comprehensive database management system designed for the storage, selection, and export of vegetation data – among them also weeds. Indicator values of Ellenberg characterize the ecological optimum of plants concerning climatic and edaphic factors. Two-way indicator species analysis TWINSPAN and software JUICE can be used for the classification of weed flora. Direct and indirect ordination – CCA and DCA – can be used to find the main ecological factors that determine the variation in the data set. SPSS is now widely used in nature sciences and includes many possibilities of data analysis. MS Excel is suitable for analyzing small amount of data. Different statistical methods are characterised for analyzing vegetation data to determine their advisability for investigations of the diversity of flora in agriculture. To compare the results, using these methods it is useful for research of weeds in the fields of both systems of agriculture – organic and conventional.

拉脱维亚语. Apskatā ietverta tikai daļa no pasaulē lietoto veģetācijas datu statistiskās apstrādes metožu klāsta, ko izmanto arī segetālās floras analīzei. Raksturotās metodes katra ir ar savu specifiku un mērķi un to izmantošana paver ļoti plašas nezāļainības datu interpretācijas iespējas, mēģinot skaidrot sarežģītās mijattiecības starp dažādiem bioloģiskās daudzveidības līmeņiem. Dažas no metodēm (ordinācijas, SPSS, MS Excel) izmantojamas daudz plašākā mērogā, ne tikai floras analīzei. Salīdzinājumam metožu izmantojamību vēlams analizēt, gan bioloģiskās, gan konvencionālās lauksaimniecības tīrumu nezāļainības izpētē. Jautājums par konkrēto metožu izmantojamību lauksaimniecības pētījumiem Latvijā paliek atklāts. Izpēte labāko metožu identificēšanai tiks turpināta, tā kā bioloģiskās daudzveidības jautājumi lauksaimniecībā ir aktuāli.
