Soil erosion by water has come to be a serious problem on sloping land of Korea since more than 70% of upland fields are located on the sloping land. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of soil texture and rainfall pattern on water flow. Lysimeters of 5 m × 2 m × 0.5 m (length × width × depth) with 15% slope were prepared and filled with three soils of different texture - sandy loam, loam and clay loam. Then relationships between soil texture and the amount of rainfall and runoff and percolation were analyzed.
