Estonia's forest sector to operate strategically

How to make sure that Estonia does not run out of forest resources, that participants in the wood processing industry don't have to reduce output, and that Estonian furniture makers might operate more successfully and find new markets, too? Government and non-governmental organisations in Estonia have come together to talk about these issues and, as a result, to draft a unified strategy for the development of Estonia's forest and wood processing sectors. Seven of Estonia's most important forest sector organisations have established a committee to draft a new strategy for the sector. Estonian furniture makers import raw materials from a variety of countries, including the USA and Canada. It is important to make sure that Estonian timber is used in Estonia, not exported as firewood.
