Chemical properties of extensively utilized muck soils in the Siodmak peatland [Poland]

The aim of conducted research was determination of the chemical consequences of mucking process in dehydrated peat bog under condition of extensive (fallowing) utilization and differentiated drying. The variety of existing peats resulted in various humidity relations in the soils. This is reflected in the level of mucking processes, which in periodically wet soils is weak (MtI), in periodically drying up soils - medium (MtII), and in periodically dry soils - intense (MtIII). The soils under study were characterized by a high content of assimilable phosphorus, and a very low content of potassium, magnesium, zinc and copper
