The paper presents properties of soils formed in reclaimed areas and in areas left for succession on sand excavation in chronesequence of 5, 17, 20, 25 years. In both categories of areas there was an increase of organic carbon content and thickness of the initial organic-mineral horizon corresponding with soil age, although in reclaimed areas the horizon was twice as thick. Investigated soils showed low sorption capacity and nutrient content but changes of these characteristics were not connected with soil age. Olny loamy material insertions resulted in an increase of these features
