In six conservative groups of ducks significant diversity of mean body weight in seven-week-old males onad females and of breast muscle yield in the eviscerated carcase was found over eight generations. However, no statistical differences were observed in body weight at three weeks of age, in leg muscle yield and skin with the subcutaneous fat content. In all groups of ducks linear regression equations revealed downward time trends in body of males and females at three and seven weeks of age and in breast muscle yield, whereas upward time trends in leg muscle yield and skin with the subcutaneous fat content in the carcase
