The aim of this study was evaluation of influences: of plant density, harvest time, height of cutting and degree of communition of maize plants on dimension of losses during silage making as well as qualitative parameters of silage produced from stay green variety of maize. Among the investigated factors the maturity of silages mostly affected the content of organic acids in the silage and the pH value. The delay of harvest from the milk-dough to dough stage increased lactic content, however did not affect content of acetic acid and pH value. The height of cut did not considerably influence the content of acids, but the tendency to lower concentration was observed, and in consequences pH value slightly increased
