The research carried out in the years 2001-03 aimed at determining the lodging, yielding and content of chemical compounds in the mixtures of spring triticale and field pea cultivated for seeds, in dependence on the field pea variety (Kier, Wiato) and the participation of compounds in the mixture (100 + 0, 80 + 20, 60 + 40, 40 + 60, 20 + 80, 0 + 100 percent). A higher yield (4.57 and 4.41 t/ha) and a smaller crude fibre content were characteristic of the mixtures of spring triticale and field pea of the Wiato variety in which the participation of components was 40 + 60 and 20 + 80 percent. The average seed yield of the mixture of spring triticale and a 60-percent participation of field pea (4.40 t/ha) was significantly higher than the yield of spring triticale and the yield of field pea seed cultivated in pure stand (by 0.19 and 0.25 t/ha, respectively). The reduction of the share of spring triticale in the mixture increased plant lodging, yield and total protein content as well as the content of fibre and crude ash. Simultaneously, it reduced the content of crude fat and nitrogen free extract compounds in the seeds. The mixtures of spring triticale and field pea (80 + 20, 60 + 40, 40 + 60, 20 + 80 percent) cultivated for seeds yielded a significantly greater amount of total protein (from 75 to 362 kg/ha) compared with the spring triticale cultivated in pure stand
