A one factor experiment was set up using randomized block method in four replications on proper brown soil of good wheat complex. Spring triticale, Wanad cv. was the object of research aimed at determining its response to cultivation in a crop rotation and in two species grain crop monoculture with the share of oats, and in a single species monoculture of spring triticale. The average triticale yield for three years was 5.6 t/ha and protein yield 563 kg per ha. Significantly larger yields of grain and protein in relation to single species monoculture were noted when Wanad cv. was cultivated in the crop rotation and in two species monoculture with the share of oat. The greatest variability of grain and protein yield and also yield forming features, such as number of ears and grain number per ear was registered in the third year of the studies which was the least favourable because of the weather conditions. Spring triticale cultivation in grain monoculture with the share of oats may alleviate negative effects of a single species monoculture of spring triticale
