Content of total protein and true protein in potato tubers depending on the soil tillage and weed control methods

The research results come from a field experiment carried out over 2002-04. The aim of the present paper was to determine the effect of soil tillage and weed control methods for herbicides on the content of total protein and true protein in the edible potato tubers. The herbicides used in the potato treatment increased the total protein content and true protein content in the tubers, as compared with the control. The statistical analysis also revealed a significant effect of the soil tillage and weather conditions over the experimental years on the characters investigated
