The influence of dietary levels of essential fatty acids in full-dose mixtures on cholesterol level in blood and tissues in fatteners

The crossbred fatteners [female (female Polish landrance x male Polish large white) x female duroc] ranging from 40 kg to slaughtering (100 kg) were receiving full dose mixtures as following: - experimental I - with 5 percent of the soya oil with 59.7 percent content of essential fatty acids (EFA), - experimental II - with 5 percent the standardized fat with 38.6 percent content of essential fatty acids (EFA), - experimental III - with 5 percent the standardized fat with 27.6 percent content of essential fatty acids (EFA). In blood plasma of fatteners receiving the soya oil there was termed lower level of total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol in comparison to fatteners receiving the standardized fat. In their ham was termed lower level of cholesterol (40.8 mg/100 g tissue) in comparison to fatteners receiving standardized fat with 27.6 percent content of essential fatty acids. In longissimus dorsi muscle of fatteners receiving standardized fat with 27.6 percent content of essential fatty acids was termed statistically nonsignificant decrease in content of cholesterol. High level of essential fatty acids in feed increasing level this fatty acids in fat of carcass. Fats in feeding of fatteners should be standardized
