The aim of the paper was the comparison of carbon and nitrogen accumulation possibilities in soil layers 0-10 and 10-20 cm depending on: 50-year mineral, organic and mineral-organic fertilization, 30-year mouldboard ploughing and no-tillage (direct sowing). The bases of the research were two long-term field experiments located on a black soil developed from boulder loam. In the first experiment were tested different ways of fertilization. In the second experiment, two soil tillage systems were compared: conventional (ploughing) and direct sowing. Soil samples were analysed after wheat harvest in 2005. The highest C and N content was determined in soil fertilized with FYM - one half of NPK + one half of FYM
