Investigations were carried out in May 2005 as well as in May and June 06 in the Bukowka river valley in the village of Mniszek in the Czarnkow-Trzcianka region (Poland) on the area of 122 ha. It was observed that both site conditions and type of utilization influenced the development of communities in mid-forest wet sities as confirmed by the formation of various phytosociological units from the Phragmitetea, Alopecuretum pratensis and from Artemisietea vulgaris. In the majority of cases, the communities which occur in the examined river valley present low economic and utilization value, as evidenced by low yields as well as low usefulness value index, with the exception of meadows of the meadow foxtail (Alopecuretum pratensis) and canary grass (Phalaridetum arundinaceae)
