Southeast India is a primary center of origin and genetic diversity of the Asian cultivated rice (Oryza sativa) and particularly of the southeast Indian hill rice (seihr) ecogenetic group. The primitive cultivars of this crop are still cultivated and conserved by the tribal people of this area. With a view to document the intellectual property contributions by these people, the names and characters of these landraces and of their owners have been listed
