Effect of different silvicultural treatments on the development and increment of middle-aged beech stands on Mt Juzni Kucaj [Serbia]

This paper analyses the effect of different silvicultural treatments on the development and increment of middle-aged beech stands on Juzni Kucaj during the period 1986-2002. The stands are situated in similar site conditions and they are close regarding the age and age of the dominant trees, but their structure and increment are significantly different. The results point to a complex effect of different silvicultural treatments on the stand increment in individual development phases.
