A cultivated population of sage originating from an autochthonous material from the maritime belt of the Balkan Peninsula was studied. The following traits were obseved in the Institute experimental field during 2005 and 2006: the plant height (cm), yields of herb and leaves per plant (g) and the essential oil content (%). The studies show a high variability of productive traits, first of all, of herb and leaves.
