The results of long-term period project on the plant varieties breeding for feed production are reviewed. Different methods and technologies have been applied. During long-term period of breeding 81 new varieties, including all economically important for feed production are officinally registered and are in the production in the field. Besides genetics and breeding effect on the new varieties yield increase the most important contributon could be recognized of the mineral nutrition and pesticide application in the field production. General conclusion is that optimal genotypes (variety), growing technology and utilization could have as result milk production from 4.500 l in the fields of very high attitudes to 11.250 l in the fields of low attitudes.
