Contemporary pig production includes high concentration of animals, and it is necessary to apply certain measures to prevent disease outbreaks in herd and keep good production. Success of applied measure is determined by traffic control, isolation and sanitation inside the farm. Required biosecurity level must be result of logical thinking and acting in the real surrounding, recognizing threats and weak points in production, so introduction of HACCP and sanitation protocols have to be reasonable solution. Basic principles of biosecurity on pig farms and necessary measures to preserve pigs health are given in this paper.
