Influence of plant density on seed yield and seed yield components of alfalfa cultivar Zajecarka-83 under agro-ecological conditions of East Serbia was investigated. The highest seed yield (343.6 kg/ha), was obtained in middle sowing rate while the lowest seed yield (292.9 kg/ha) was determined at lower sowing rate. Plant height was depended of plant density. Higher plants (77.0 cm) were obtained in dense crop, while in broadcast sowing lower plants (74.0 cm) have detected. The highest number of stem was detected in thick stand (763 stems per square meter) and the lowest number of stems (241 stems per square meter) at low plant density. Number of lateral branches per stem was 2.9 at high seed rate and 4.1 lateral branches per stem in low seed rate.
