Based on detailed research and definitions of forest types in the National Park Tara (Serbia), only some typological categories have been included, pursuant to the main content of the project task. The following four coeno-ecological groups are presented: 1) coeno-ecological group of montane forest of beech (Fagetum moesiacae montanum) on different brown soils; 2) coeno-ecological group of fir and beech forest (Abieti-Fagenion moesiacea) on brown soils, and lessive varieties of some brown soils; 3) coeno-ecological group of spruce, fir and beech forests (Abieti-Piceenion) on humus acid brown soils, brown podzolic soils, terra fusca and bleached terra fusca; 4) coeno-ecological group of spruce forests (Piceion excelsae) on dystric humus siliceous, brown podsolic soils and black soils on limestone, which are a logical natural column in the vertical distribution of our forests. Thirteen forest types are defined in the above coeno-ecological groups.
