The soils in different forest communities were studied in the region of northeast Serbia, area of the management unit Cezava. There studied the soils of different physiographic, physical and chemical properties, on which forest communities in National Park Djerdap often have a very similar hydrothermal regime which is under a strong influence of climate, orographic and phytocoenological factors. The study soils occur over three types of bedrock: limnestone, siliceous rock, alluvial, alluvial-deluvial and deluvial deposits. The soil types and subtypes are defined based on the profile morphology, parent rock and pedogenetic processes. Two types of soil were analyzed on limnestone: rendzina soils, brown soils (kalkokambisol). Three types of soil were analyzed on silicate rocks: dystric ranker, dystric brown soil, eutric brown soil.
