[The effect of various zeolite concentrations added to feed on the health of dairy cows]

The investigations were carried out on 30 lactating cows of domestic spotted Simmental breed Simmental at a private farm at Veliki Siljigovac near Krusevac (Serbia). Two groups (the trial and control ones) were formed. The control group with 15 heads of cattle was fed 2% Tufozel supplements and the control had no feed supplements. The investigations covered health problems in cows and calves, reproductive organ diseases, parturition types, as well as internal and udder diseases, with a specific focus on parturition fever, pneumonia, rumination disorder, inflammation of the stomach and intestines, trace element deficiency, udder inflammation, milk deficiency, formation of warts, wounds and other injuries to cow udder. The aim of the investigations was to determine the effect of Tufozel zeolite feed supplement on lactating cow and calf health. The examinations lasted 6 months. They showed that the product examined brought about a reduction of some diseases in lactating cows and calves.
