Most virus infections cause pathological changes in morphology of individual plant organs. Types of organ changes induced by plant viruses are very various and the level of changes is highly dependent on the virus strain, time of infection and environmental factors. All parts of the plant can show shortening. In addition to plant stunding, virus infection can cause changes in colour, shape (various deformation and malformation) and number of root, leaf, stem, flower and fruit. Also many of plant viruses cause necrosis of plant organs. Some of viruses can cause abortion of leaves and flowers, as well as new growth (proliferations, warts) of leaves and fruits.
