The response of four inbred lines, parental components of ZP maize hybrids, to effects of six herbicides applied after emergence of both, maize and weeds, was observed in the present study. The following herbicides were applied in the 2-3-leaf stage of maize: isoxaflutole (Merllin 750-WG) in the amount of 0.135 kg/ha, nicosulfuron (Motivell) in amount of 1.25 l/ha, foramsulfuron (Equip) in the amount of 2.0 l/ha, dicamba + rimsulfuron (Tarot plus) in the amount of 0.3 kg/ha, mezotrion (Callisto) in the amount of 0.25 l/ha and thifensulfuron-methyl (Grid) in the amount of 0.02 kg/ha. The phytotoxic effect of herbicides on the maize grain yield was evaluated according to the 1-9 EWRC scale. Maize inbreds showed different susceptibility depending on the applied herbicide. The least favourable effects in both years for all genotypes were obtained in the treatments with Tarot plus and Grid, in which the lowest values of maize grain yield were recorded.
