Haematological profile of the adult Hsd Cpb albino breed of rats treated with the herbicide 2,4dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D)

We tested of subacute toxicity of the herbicide 2,4- dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) was carried out on adult Hsd Cpb albino rats of both sexes. The herbicide was administered in doses of 11 mg/kg and 110 mg/kg body mass. Control group was administered clean tap water with. Analyses of blood samples were performed on the 6th and 13th day of the experiment using the Bayer Technical H* 1 automatic haematological analyser. The results indicate the significant effect of 2,4-D on the red and white cell count, haemoglobin concentrations, mean cell volumes and on the packed cell volume in female Hsd Cpb albino rats.
