Field trials were carried out to investigate the effects of different levels of nitrogen fertilization and different forms of nitrogen fertilizers on the qualitative and quantitative parameters of two durum wheat varieties (Istrodur, Martondur). Yield of grain and technological quality parameters were highly significantly influenced by fertilization and year. The Isodur variety produced the highest grain yield (3.85 t per ha, increased by 4.37%) with the treatment of 80 kg per ha N plus LAV + Nitrohum application. The Martondur variety yielded the highest (3.96 t per ha, increased by 16%) at the fertilization rate of 120 kg per ha N and the application of DASA + Nitrohum. From the parameters of technological quality, protein content (%) and glassiness (%) were statistically significantly influenced, with a different tendency of fertilizer rate influence by variety. Istrodur wheat achieved the highest protein content (13.66%) and glassiness (83.63%) at a rate of 120 kg per ha N and DASA + Nitrohum application. In the case of Martondur wheat it was at the fertilization level of 80 kg per ha N and LAV + Nitrohum application, with the value of 16.65% for the protein content and of 85.89% for glassiness. The trials have confirmed different responses of the analyzed durum wheat varieties to the observed levels of nitrogen fertilization and different nitrogen fertilizer forms.
