The lizymetric studies are showing an impact of different utilisation of a mountain meadow sward on the grass yield and qualitative features of percolating waters. The experiments were conducted during the period 2000-2006 at the Research Station Jaworki - IMUZ, Poland. At the sites 4 replications were established, different frequencies of mowing were applied from one to four cuts during the growing season. It was found that the differences in yield from particular sites/treatments were significant, and exceeded 20 per cent of biomass (D.M.). The frequency of sward cutting had impact on their botanical and chemical compositions as well as the quality and quantity of outflowing water beyond the soil profile.
