Chemical composition and technological property of grain on foreign durum wheat varieties

In 2002-2005 an experiment was conducted at the experimental field of Agricultural University, Plovdiv. tested were some Durum wheat varieties: Durumko, Yukon, Duetto, Duramar and Beleno (standard). The experiment was conducted by the block method in four replications. The plots ware 15 m2. The main aim of this work was to establish the most suitable Durum wheat varieties for the environment of South Bulgaria. It was established that Durumko variety produced the highest yield 4320 kg/ha with 1180 kg/ha (37.5%) more than Progress, followed by Duramar with 920 kg/ha (29.3%), Yukon - 467 kg/ha (14.6%) и Duetto - 210 kg/ha (6.7%) grain yield more than the standard. Contents of raw protein, total and essential amino acids were highest in grain of Durum wheat varieties Yukon and Duetto. The gluten content, bread volume and sedimentation the value were found to be highest in Yukon and Durumko varieties.
