The productivity and chemical composition of grain sorghum varieties has been studied. The research was carried out in the Agricultural Institute Shoumen, during 20022006. 16 varieties with different terms of maturing were included in the tests. A stable productivity show the mean-early varieties Verdon, Queras, Sevanes, EGS 241 Tramontane. In conditions of many rainfalls and prolonged vegetation high productive potential manifest the late varieties Bianko, Tx 96254, Alba and Gold. The content of cure protein is from 8,32% for 110 IR 218 to 10,98 for Bianko. The tested sorghuv varieties and hybrids have goot nutritive qalities of grain and give stable yields in different climatic conditions.
