[Dependence of the fermentation activity of peat sandy soil complexes of Polesje on the cultivated fodder crops and fertilizer systems]

Results of selection of fodder crops adapted to the moisture, physical and agrochemical conditions of peat sandy soil complexes of Polesje region of the Republic of Belarus, determination of the optimal system of fertilizers for their cultivation as well as the investigation of the complex influence of all studied factors on soil fertility and economic and ecological conditions of land use were presented. The relative humification coefficient (ratio of polyphenol oxidase activity to peroxidase) of the anthropogenically modified peat sandy soils was analysed. In course of the investigation it was revealed that the maximum humification coefficient was observed in case of application of manure in combination with mineral fertilizers for maize, spring triticale and mixture of Austrian winter pea and oat as well as after the application of phosphate-potassium fertilizers for the perennial grasses. The following variants made it possible to achieve the maximum yielding capacity of fodder crops: application of organomineral fertilizers for annual crops and application of N30 before sowing for the perennial grasses. Research results showed that soil tillage, fertilizer application and cultivation of fodder crops caused the alteration of the biochemical soil processes: strengthened the processes catalyzed by hydrolases (invertase, urease, phosphatase) and reduced the activity of polyphenol oxidase. The average yielding capacity of fodder crops was the following: maize (150 c/ha); cereals (25 c/ha); perennial grasses (up to 60 c/ha depending on the plant variety and applied fertilizers)
