The European dairy production is characterized by a decrease of the numbers of producers and an increase of the numbers of animals per farm. Thus, farms that were run by the owner and his family have to change into farms that have a number of employees. Standardized, coordinated working programmes and the use of modern technologies are necessary. Well managed large dairy farms consider the demands of the animals as well as that of the people and produce raw milk of high quality.
