Orobanche ramosa L. is an obligated tobacco plant parasitic. It causes severe yield losses and affects the quality of crops. Control methods in Cuba are mainly directed to cultural labours and the use of chemicals. It has not been effective up to now. Its inefficiency due to the involved lifecycle of the specie and it is closely to the host. Also, the irregularities in the chemicals application moment and the use of inadequate rates provoke toxicity in tobacco. Regardless this, the chemical products has showed the best results. For this reason, the country continuously is searching products that admit to be incorporated in the management strategy of this specie. The aim of this paper is to determinate the possible phytotoxic effect of herbicide on tobacco plants and the effect of different rates on O. ramose agro-morphology. The Envoke (Trifloxysulfuron- sodium) is an acetolactate sintasa inhibitor. It stops off cell division and plants growth. The herbicide is incorporated rapidly for the buds and roots, and it is traslocated for the phloem and xylem to roots, leaves and apical meristems. Envoke has been employed for the control of post-emergent grass, broadleaf weeds and other weeds in cotton crops, sugar cane and tomato.
