Effect of levamisole on humoral immune response in chicks immunized with intermediate plus strain of IBD virus

In the present investigation effect of levamisole on humoral immune response in 3-week-old chicks immunized with IP strain of IBDV was evaluated. The antibody titres as detected by IHAT and ELISA at various intervals in groups of chicks inoculated with levamisole and IP strain of IBDV were always at higher than that of the group immunized with IP strain of IBDV alone. The results indicate that levamisole has immuno-potentiating effect on the humoral immune response upon IP strain of IBDV vaccination in chicks.
