Higher concentrations of aluminium is toxic for plants and this can be demonstrated experimentally in b.th aboratory and in field conditions by application of aluminium in the form of aluminium sulphate. Aluminfum 'as found to have deleterious effect on leaf area, increased chlorophyllase activity followed by a decliqe in igment content and Hill activity. Such effect on physiological and biochemical changes resulted in de rease 1 seed yield of mung bean. Data on seed yield, were recorded for two consecutive years (1995-1996) and multiple orrelations of these parameters were analyzed.
