In order to evaluate of grain yield and agronomical characteristic of rapeseed and mustard varieties, an experimnt was counucted at agricultural research station of Gorgan in 2002-2003. The experiment was arranged in augmented design with 43 genotypes and 4 control varieties (Hyola 401, Heros, Option 500 and Quntum). Traits including days to flowering , days to maturity , plant height, main stem diameter , number of pods per main stem and secondary branches , number of seeds per pod , kernal thousand weight, seed yield, oil content, and oil yield were measureds. The results revealed the exitance of genetic variability in studied germplasm. Highest genotypic variation were obtained for seed yield and number of pods per secondary branches. Mean and variation range were for days to maturity and oil content 182 and 167 - 195 days, 26.2 37 and 36.82 - 49.84 %, respectively. The result of this experiment showed that Option 500 (650 Kg/ha) and Pastell (4915 Kg/ha) had the lowest and highest grain yield, respectively. Correlation coefficients between traits showed that, in rain fed condition number of pods per lateral branches was as a main yield component. Mustard and rapeseed varieties J-98-102-515, Ucd-31.13.,Bp-4, and Pastell had more yield in comparison to control varieties. Also there is no significant difference between the yield of several varieties compared to some control varieties (PF 7045.91 to Quantum , BP.1285 to option 500, and turner to Hyola 401).
