An Investigation on the efficiency of different formulation of Tribenuron methyl and fenoxaprop - P - ethyl in wheat field

In order to investigate the efficiency of different formulation of Tribenuron methyl and fenoxaprop-P-ethyl in wheat field, field and greenhouse experiments were conducted in Golestan, Khouzestan, Fars and Tehran, during 2003-2004. Treatments of first experiment included three formulations of Fenoxaprop-p ethyl (Golsam, Giya and Bieser feld), each applied under four doses (0.4, 0.8, 1.2 and 1.8 L/ha). Treatments of second experiment included three formulations of Tribenuron – methyl (Iranian company ,Chinese and French companies), each applied under four doses(10,15,20 and 25 g/h). Dose response curves of the percent of reduction in number of weeds and their dry weight compared to the untreated control were fitted. Weed flora of first experiment was winter wild oat (Avena ludoviciana Dur.) and black grass (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.) in Farscanary grass (Phalaris minor Retz.) and ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) in Khouzestancanary grass in Golestan and wild oat in the greenhouse study (Tehran experiment). Weed flora of second experiment was italian thistle (Carddus pychocephallus L.) and henbit (Lamium amplexicaule L.) in Farshigh mallow (Malva sylvestris L.var), Canadian thistle (Cirsium arvense (L.) Scop.) California bur clover (Medicago polymorpha L.) and wild mustard in Khouzestanwild mustard in Golestan and garden rocket (Eruca sativa Mill.) in the greenhouse study (Tehran experiment). Results of the first experiment indicated that there was no significant difference between Giya and Bieser feld formulations, but the efficacy of these formulations was better than Golsam. Dose response of grass weeds to all Fenoxaprop-p ethyl formulations was not satisfactory at the recommended dose(1 l/ha) indicating that this herbicide should be applied at higher doses or be replaced with another grass weed herbicide like Clodinafop-propargil. The results of second experiment indicated that there were no significant differences among Tribenuron methyl formulations at the highest dosage (25 g/ha). Tribenuron methyl produced in Iran, China & France did not control broadleaf weeds excellent at the recommended dosage (15 g/ha) so that this herbicide must be applied at 25 g/ha or replaced with another broadleaf herbicide such as 2, 4-D+M.C.P.A or Bromicide.
