Development of bread wheat genotypes for high yield potential and resistant to drought stresses in warm and semi-warm dryland areas

In order to obtain high yielding varieties and to find varieties with suitable characters such as resistance to lodging, disease, drought and other unfavorable environmental condition, a study was carried out at Agricultural station of Gonbad in 2005-2006. The study consisted of 317 lines and varieties of bread wheat which was carried out in replicated and observational trials. The trials were as followsQ A.Observations yield trial test consisted of two experiment: 1.AIISWIP-1stSBW-SN- 06 and 2.CWANA-1stDSBW-SN-06 Each experiment consisted of 81 and 140 lines and varieties respectively and every line and variety was planted in two rows with two- meters long , 20 centimeters apart. the result showed that in the first experiment genotype 75 and in the second experiment genotype 133 both of them with 5375 kg/ha had the highest grain yield , therefore they were selected for more advanced experiments. B.Replicated yield trials of wheat which consisted of four experiments: 1.6th RWYT-MR-SC-06 2.. 6th RWYT-MR-CA-06 3 CWANA-1st DSBWYT-LR/TA-06 4. CWANA-1st DSBWYT-LR/CA-06 Every experiment was done with 24 lines and varieties of wheat in a Randomized Complete Block Design with 3 replication. Each plot contained in six rows with 4- meters long and 20 centimeters apart. After analyzing of variance in the first experiment genotypes number 16 , 2 and 6 had the highest grain yield &lsquowith 3254, 3175, 3139 Kg/ha, respectively. They were classified in class C and in second experiment, genotype 17 and 19 had the highest grain yield (2401 and 2337 kg/ha, respectively) and they classified in the same class with check. In third experiment genotype 15 had the highest grain yield &lsquowith 2619 Kg/ha but it was in the same class with check (2650 kg/ha). In last experiment genotype 15 had the highest seed yield&lsquowith 2797 Kg/ha however it classified in the same class as check.
