The effects of different level of olive pulp on performance of Ross and Arian commercial broiler hybrides

In a 5×2 factorial experiment with a completely randomized design, the effects of olive pulp levels (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 percent) and commercial hybrids (Ross and Arian) on 800 males were investigated. Levels of olive pulp had no significant effect on weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratio (P%5). Further, percent of mortality, live weight, gizzard, Heart, live and abdominal fat weights were also not effected by olive pulp levels (P%5). However, carcass weight, thigh, breast, wings, back bone and neck weight were significantly effected by olive pulp levels (P%5). Dry mater, crude protein and crude fat of thigh and breast meat of the broilers were not affected by olive pulp levels (P%5), but ash content was affected (P%5). Generally the result showed that 5 percent level of olive pulp in the broiler ration resulted in better performance.
