A study of the agricultural products processing groups in island: Focus on the Kamigoto area in Nagasaki [Japan] Prefecture

The purpose of this study is to examine the agricultural food processing group in island area. In order to achieve this aim, data has been collected by means of survey in the Agricultural Food Processing Group (Kamigoto area in Nagasaki Prefecture). There are three processing groups in Kamigoto area. They are carrying out the agricultural food processing based on their characters. But these groups have common problems with fluctuation income, successor to their groups, and marketing of their products. In the future, it is necessary to support its agricultural food processing group development by building strong relationship between group and other institutions (e.g. local government, agricultural cooperative and tourist center).
