Carpet weaving women and their contribution to household economy in Turkey

Handicrafts have contributed to improve the life quality of the families in rural areas in Turkey. These families not only use the handicrafts that they make for their own use but also they sell them to earn extra income. In this study, the demographic status of the carpet weaving women and the level of their contribution to household economy were evaluated, as well as changes in the evaluated parameters. For this study, results of the past studies that were carried out in various locations in Turkey were rewieved and assessments and comparisons were made.
