This study was conducted in Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan [Philippines] to evaluate the bioefficacy of EFSB [eggplant fruit and shoot borer] pheromone lure against eggplant fruit and shoot borer. The treatments evaluated were: T1 - Untreated control, T2 - Farmer's practice, T3- Pheromone lure alone, T4 - Pheromone lure plus once a week spraying of recommended synthetic insecticide for eggplant. Baiting with pheromone traps was done 35 days after planting, replacing bait material monthly. The number of male borer moths trapped per week was recorded. In Nueva Ecija, the lowest percentage and number of damaged fruit was obtained from the plots with EFSB pheromone lure plus once a week spraying of recommended synthetic insecticide and plots where farmer's practice was followed.
