The present work investigated the effect of soil moisture upon VAM infection and spore distribution in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) from fields of Mamoun Khatki, District Peshawar. Samples were collected during May, 2000. The soil moisture contents varied in between were 12.90 & 21.30. The general VAM infection was up to 100%. While external hyphae and vesicles showed direct and arbuscules showed an inverse relationship with soil moisture contents. Soil moisture contents had an inverse effect on the formation of VAMF spores.
