In this experiment the influence of addition of urea in two doses (0.5 and 1.0%) and organozeolite, mineral mycotoxin adsorbent (0.2%) on chemical composition and quality of maize plant silages was investigated. The experiment was organized as a randomized plan with three reprications of every treatment. The treatments were following: 1) control; 2) organozeolite (0.2%); 3) urea (0.5%); 4) organozeolite (0.2%) and 0.5% urea; 5) urea (1.0%); 6) organozeolite (0.2%) and urea (1.0%). Results of chemical analyses showed that with the addition of urea there was significant increase in pH value and amount of ammonia nitrogen, which is why treatments 3, 5 and 6 were ranked as the 3rd quality class according to Zelter method, while treatment 4 was ranked as the 2nd quality class. Silage with increased doses of urea had significantly more acetic acid and crude protein. With the addition of organozeolite in all cases there was significant decrease in the amount of ammonia nitrogen. Analyses of mycotoxins showed only minimal amounts of aflatoxin B1, and Aspergillus versicolor moulds. In optimal ensiling conditions the used adsorbent of mycotoxins had no significant influence on mycotoxin amounts in silages.
