The main aim of the paper is to indicate regional livestock dispersion and density in Serbia by counties, during the period 2000-2006. The number of livestock units (LSU) per 100 ha of agricultural land has been observed. The research has pointed out that average livestock density in Serbia as a whole (28 LU/100 ha) is low, as well as region of Central Serbia (32 LU/100 ha), while livestock density in Vojvodina is very low (20 LU/100 ha). Observed by counties livestock density ranges from very low (15 LSU/100 ha in Juznobanatski county) to low intensity (47 LSU/100 ha in Kolubarski county), apart from Macvanski county which has medium livestock density (58 LSU/100 ha). Those results point to insuficient livestock density in all counties. That indicates to significant possibilities for intensification of agricultural production by re-establishment of relationships between animal husbandry and plant production.
