The author considers the phenomenon of scientific postulate, as a key element of scientific methodology of social sciences. Scientific postulate is one of the most important methodology procedure of scientific research. In literature of methodology there are many similar and also different interpretations of some aspects of postulate. The theory of scientific postulate, which is an important part of the methodology of scientific research, is consisted of lot of questions. The author is considering: the concept of postulate, creating, implementing and verifying, functions and cognitive role of the postulate, relationship between postulate and theory.
